domino effect
First of all, I would be remiss in not mentioning that Governor “no taxes” is now responsible for over 60 new taxes and fee increases and as if that wasn’t enough: the single largest LLC tax in the country (during a recession that is causing so much unemployment it has conjured images of the great depression.) The details of what this LLC tax is frightening to business owners. The state will allow an adjuster to come in to our business and decide what we should be paid and then tax the rest. Forget about the fact that this LLC tax is constitutionally questionable. Could this be any more arbitrary? In a time when jobs are scarce enough to find we are going to attack the source of funding for growth of new businesses? This is just poor policy and even worse timing. This is retro-active to last year and just plain dangerous. My company allows me to come into contact with many other small business owners and this is going to have a horrible effect of what is left of New Hampshire’s economy. The domino effect with this legislative change is this. This is a tax designed to increase revenue in a time when revenue’s are falling. In a few months once enough businesses have been hit with this new tax many are going to need to start either A. cutting staff to cover the new tax or B. not have enough money to grow. So in a year this tax will ultimately be responsible for less revenue not more and further cut jobs. Governor Lynch, Attorney General Michael Delaney please perform your duty and challenge this tax before it further cripples New Hampshire’s struggling small business owners.
