The Flags of our Founding Fathers have Fallen!
There were men that gathered in drafty meeting halls and churches spread throughout 13 colonies ruled by the King of England. These men's background varied but they all shared a common thread: A dream of Liberty! These men talked to neighbors and friends and with courage and tenacity wrote a seccession document that we call the Declaration of Independance. They were great men. Not because they defied a king, not even because they took on the world's best army. They were great because when it was all over they could have ruled as King's themselves (in fact many wanted Washington to be the King of the America's). They were great because they saw what power and governments were capable of and they said no. They fought convention for a chance at true freedom. As they ratified their Constitution they knew with great satisfaction that (while not perfect) Freedom was the new King. We have seen so many abuses of these ideals that most of us are numb to them. Some are numb and ask themselves questions like; What could I do about it? Some are numb because our education system has stopped teaching of the founders and their quest for posterity and therefore have truly crushed hope. Hope in freedom, Hope in liberty; and by crushing this hope have crushed our path back to freedom. Over the last several years we have had 3 seperate Presidents that have all usurped our Constitution; and yet we do nothing. The time for doing nothing is over! The time for reverance to the Constitution and to reclaim our founders prosperity is now! How can we stand still and watch our freedom's end? Inaction now will lead us to that cliff which we are being rushed to be pushed over. Langdon (NH leader in the ratification of the Constitution)said that "death is not the worst of all evils". He meant that living under tyranny was worse than death. Most people are familiar with Patrick Henry's famous "give me liberty or give me death" quote; yet don't know that he also said that liberty is a precious jewel which needed vigilante protection. Who were to be the protectors of this jewel? I am, you are, otherwise known as the "We the people..." from that most sacred Declaration. That jewel Henry referred to is being abused and stolen by a Congress of these United States, and they should be ashamed of themselves as should we for doing nothing. Scott Brown's Massachusetts election was a signal to many that everything is going to be okay because he will stop healthcare. He will not stop healthcare! We should! We won't though, too many of us have become complacent and lazy when protecting that which should be most sacred. Our Liberty, Our Freedom: and this complacency is going to cost us all dearly. I want you to think of something: If you believe that even if Scott Brown managed to stop healthcare; Would that make it all better? Would California, Arizona, New York and so many other states suddenly become financially solvent? Would the Supreme Court suddenly stop interfereing in the practices of soveriegn states just because healthcare was stifled? We need solutions and most of all we need leaders. If you think someone that has an R beside their name is the solution you are wrong. Liberty and Freedom are not jewels that can be stared at in meusems, or around someone's neck, they are the backbone of our life. Without it all is lost. If you say you support the troops, yet fail to speak up about the attacks what are you really supporting? If you say you value Liberty and Freedom yet fail to fight for it's survival do you really value it? I value our Liberty and our Freedom and I fight for it everyday and I will not allow this Congress to borrow, steal or undermine the most precious gift of the three: Life....then Liberty, then the pursuit of happiness:Will you?
